Tyler's Picks
Online Gaming Fun
- Addictingames: A gaming aggregator. Some games are meant for a mature audience, not everything will be appropriate for all ages.
- CandyStand: Sponsored by Wrigley's, a kid friendly gaming site.
- Miniclip: Large collection of flash-based games
The Consoles I use:
-
Nintendo Wii- I had to get in on the reinvention of the motion sensitive controllers. When games apply these controllers effectively, it really does add an extra element of fun.
-My favorite games:
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption- Really shows what a Wii's graphics are capable of. The use of controls is cleaver, very
interactive and a lot of fun!
Raving Rabbids- Twisted collection of mini-games that really just makes you laugh as you play.
Trauma Center: Second Opinion- Ever want to know what it is like to cut someone open, remove an ailment and stitch 'em
back up again?
-
Playstation 2 - This system still probably has a while to go before the PS3 replaces it completely. One of the best things about this system is the huge archive of games. So, you can build up a library of older games for a very cheap price.
-My favorites
Guitar Hero II- I play a real guitar and still make time for this game. It is probably as close to the actual experience as a game will get.
XIII- You wake up, can't remember who you are, and then get chased by people with guns. As the game progresses, you have flashbacks of who
you are and the missions you have to accomplish. The game itself is designed to be presented like a graphic novel, so mini-windows open for
certain action sequences.
Twisted Metal: Black- The perfect solution for road rage fanatics. Drive around in a wrecked up vehicle, arm yourself to the teeth and fight your
enemies. Great game, but pretty graphic.
Shadow of the Colossus- you fight 16 separate Colossus in order to ressurect your love. Don't kid yourself, this is a tough game (the final leader
takes about 45 minutes to defeat w/ near perfect play). Possibly my favorite of all time.
Katamari Damacy- Roll a little sticky ball, pick up tacks and pencils, then buid up to flowers, dogs or cats people cars until the ball is large enough
to rip skyscrapers out of the ground. Just trust me on this one, it is super addictive.
